Episode 17:

Hey folks, Sam Crawley here, and welcome to Part 1 of this 4-part series with pastor Lisa Eggert, who, by the way, never stepped foot inside a church until she was all grown up. How does this happen?  Well… remember the horrific Columbine High School shooting of 1999? That happened just miles from her high school. So join me as I peel back the layers of Lisa's My Story video to find out how a little girl and her GlowWorm set out to discover the meaning of life. Watch the video below (scroll way down on this page), and subscribe to the podcast and listen to my inspiring conversation, and let us know in the comments what you think!

Episode 18:

Part 2 of 4: How does an unchurched kid end up following Jesus? Why? Sam Crawley continues his interview with childhood atheist Lisa Eggert after her close call with the Columbine High School shooting the year before. “My sophomore year of college I was driving around Greeley Colorado looking for a church for the first time ever, and I saw a sign that said ‘First Assembly of God.’ I had no idea what that meant, but I was glad that it said ‘God’ and I was glad that I saw a cross! So I pulled into the parking lot and I walked in. Pretty quickly [the pastor] was talking about how people can live their whole lives good: They can do good for others. They can volunteer. They can be good people, and they could live their whole lives without ever hearing about Jesus and who he is. And how that changes the trajectory of your life, and not just for eternity, but for how you live, and who you live for, and all these things. And I WAS FLOORED… and looking around… and maybe feeling a little hot and sweaty! And that was the first time I had ever heard about Jesus.”

Episode 19:

Part 3 of 4: Sam continues his interview with childhood atheist Lisa who experienced the Columbine massacre and grew up to be a college and kids pastor. "It was the relationships of Chi Alpha Campus Ministries that changed my life. They taught me very quickly how to invite people into my house, and then into my life. Not even a year into it, I knew I was called into ministry. I thought, I have waited for THIS for twenty years and there is not going to be another day that goes by that I am not all in!" Continue with me as Lisa takes us on her journey through college, ministry and missions, from her own city to India and beyond. This is life transformation, folks!

Episode 20:

Part 4 of 4: Why bring your kids to church when you’ve never been yourself? I wasn’t raised in church and neither was kids and young adult pastor Lisa Eggert, so listen to discover how God is using her unchurched perspective to equip the next generation with a personal relationship God, with loving relationships with peers that may be different from them, and with leadership skills that embolden them to invite others to experience a loving relationship with Jesus. Lisa explains that “Kids think differently than we think, they engage differently, and things captivate them in different ways than they do for us. And so if we want to create places where kids are really able to understand truth, and understand God, we have to be doing that in age-appropriate ways. Because Monday is coming. And I want Sunday to prepare your kids for school on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday… and then begin to engage in what it might look like to have a relationship with God.” As a dad, it’s important to me that my kids have a place to go outside of school where they’re gonna grow both spiritually and emotionally, and I can truly attest to Lisa’s efforts here because I can see it in my sons, and that makes me feel good as a father: it’s tangible, real growth in a child. Listen, you don’t want to miss this!
